A camera date stamp, a stray logo or a small object in the corner can spoil an otherwise usable image. The Watermark Remover reconstructs the marked area in your browser, so personal photos are never uploaded. Only remove watermarks from images you own or have permission to edit.

Choose the right selection tool

  • Brush suits thin text, signatures and irregular shapes. Paint slightly beyond the edges of the mark.
  • Box is fastest for rectangular stamps, logos and captions.
  • Clone stamp copies real pixels from a source point you choose. Use it on repeating textures such as grass, fabric, brick or sky where automatic fill can look smooth.

Pick a fill method

Detail keeps edges and texture from the surrounding area and works well on photographs. Smooth blends gently and is better for flat backgrounds, gradients and skin. If the first attempt leaves a faint shape, undo and try the other method rather than repeatedly filling the same area.

Tune sample radius and edge softness

A larger sample radius gathers information from farther away, which helps with wide marks but can pull unrelated colours into the gap. A smaller radius keeps results local. Edge softness feathers the boundary between repaired and original pixels; increase it when a visible outline remains, and lower it near sharp edges such as buildings or text.

Work in small passes

Large selections are the most common cause of blurry patches. Zoom in, clean one section at a time, and alternate between automatic fill and clone stamp. Pixels outside your selection are preserved, so each pass only affects what you mark.

Finish and export

Inspect the result at 100% zoom before downloading. Afterwards, crop, resize or compress the image with the Image Cropper, Image Resizer or Image Compressor.

Realistic expectations

Reconstruction works best on small marks over predictable backgrounds. Watermarks that cover faces, detailed text or most of an image cannot be recovered perfectly, because the original information under them is gone. In those cases, clone stamp plus several small passes gives the most believable result.
