Which audio formats work?

Anything your browser can decode — MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG, FLAC and WebM. Video files work too; their audio track is decoded automatically.

Can I export a transparent waveform?

Yes. Enable Transparent and export as PNG or WebP; JPEG has no alpha channel so it falls back to the background colour.

What image size should I use?

1600×400 suits banners and podcast art, 1280×720 fits a YouTube thumbnail. Any size from 200×80 up to 4000×2000 is allowed.

Does it show stereo channels separately?

The waveform is drawn from the first channel, which is the standard representation for cover art and thumbnails.

Is my video uploaded to a server?

No. Every frame is decoded, processed and re-encoded inside your browser with Canvas, Web Audio and MediaRecorder. The file never leaves your device.
