Copy the CSS block, host the exported PNG, and apply the class names to elements sized to each cell.

Do images need to be the same size?

Not required — cells are sized to the largest image, and smaller images are centred inside their cell.

Can I slice a sprite back apart?

Yes, use the Sprite Sheet Slicer tool, which does the reverse operation.
